My buddy sent me a link to a program that supposedly plays mp3s, wmas, .... all the other extensions of songs you can think of, but somehow it doesn't play those I ripped from CDs. Might be the settings, he'll help me check after the exams. But the best thing is, if the song is named nicely in Chinese, the program will auto-download the lyrics and have it scrolling line-by-line as the song is played. Damn cool. The player is called 千千静听. Doesn't take up much space, but each song lyrics downloaded will take up about 2KB, depends on how wordy the song is. Like Jay Chou's 桥段 which is damn wordy is 3KB.
Anyway, here's what my dearest JJ won in this 2005 music awards:
最佳本地作曲 - 一千年以后
最佳本地男歌手 - best local singer split into male and female parts
最佳创作人 - 4 winners (David, Tanya, 信乐团)
最佳演绎男歌手 - beating all the other more experienced male singers
Almost won 最佳本地编曲 for 木乃伊 and 编号89757, both of which I think are really cool.
